UDAC Red Dragons

UDAC's Diving Team trains and competes in the Upper Dublin High School Natatorium.  The Upper Dublin High School Athletic Complex, the first phase of Upper Dublin's new high school, opened in December 2009.

The natatorium was designed by Wallover Architects (pool) and Gilbert Architects (school) and features a state-of-the-art 40-yard long by 25-yard wide stretch pool with a moveable bulkhead that can be configured to allow concurrent swimming & diving activities.  The diving tank depth is 13 feet.  The diving facility is outfitted with two one-meter and one three-meter Duraflex Maxiflex Model "B" diving boards (16 foot) with Durafirm stands (new 2010 models).

UDAC Diving offers both year-round and seasonal opportunities for training and competition, with several options available at varying levels, including our local Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) dual meet team, plus AAU and USA Diving competition in the Middle Atlantic region and beyond.  UDAC diving athletes have the opportunity to train and compete on both 1 & 3 meter springboards, plus an option to participate in land training sessions at the Montgomery County Sports Performance Center. Our program is for young age-group athletes through high school (ages 6-18).  UDAC Red Dragons diving participants vary from new beginners to those with over a decade of competitive experience.

UDAC Diving athletes compete at local SAL dual meets, plus local and regional AAU and USA Diving meets throughout the year (the latter requires AAU option or full-year regsitration). SAL dual meets (Oct-Feb) usually take place on Saturdays, but may vary with an opponents pool availability. Several SAL invitational meets are held each season that are especially fun for beginners.  The practice schedule may be viewed on the UDAC Online Calendar link on the left hand side of the home page of our website www.udac.us.

There are no tryouts for UDAC's diving team and in the past we have not found any reason to set an attendance minimum. We simply ask participants and parents to understand that progress is directly related to the amount of practice time.
